An incident in Vijayawada where a female Village Revenue Officer (VRO), Vijayalakshmi, physically assaulted a flood victim. The Chief Minister had repeatedly urged officials to treat flood victims with compassion. However, Vijayalakshmi lost her temper when flood victims questioned the lack of food and water supplies. This led to an altercation during which she slapped a victim named M.D. Yasin in the presence of police officers.

Following the incident, the District Collector Srujana issued a show-cause notice to the VRO for her irresponsible behavior and demanded an explanation within two days. Additionally, the victim alleged that Vijayalakshmi's husband threatened them afterward. The government is focusing on providing relief to flood-affected areas and ensuring officials carry out their duties responsibly.
